Greetings for a just a short note this time. Wow, 34 years of a Wildflower Sale. It’s coming up this Friday May 6th, for members from 3 to 6 PM, and for the public Saturday May 7 from 9am to 1 pm. If you are not currently a member and wish to attend the early sale you can sign up on our website and we’ll add you to the list of those eligible to attend.
This has been a challenging spring for the “potters” getting ready for the sale. While the sandhills braved the cold and came back early to LLC and the great horned owls nested around the same time again in the same hollow tree, the frogs have had a hard time getting out to sing. Potting on rainy, cold and windy days takes true dedication on the part of our volunteers and we truly appreciate all their efforts on behalf of the conservancy
While the unusually cool weather impacts all phases of wildlife and our preparations, let’s hope the weather forecast holds for this weekend and we can enjoy a wildflower sale on a sunny Saturday.
I’m sure you have all had a chance to look over the plant list for this year and have picked your favorites to look for on Saturday. So have your planting clothes ready, checkbooks and credit cards in hand and we’ll see you Saturday.
