Greetings plant lovers!

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers at Lac Lawrann.  Our 33rd annual Wild Flower and Perennial sale was a huge success thanks to their hard work potting and preparing under sometimes less than ideal conditions this year.   While the final numbers are not ready yet, it looks like this will be among one of our top few revenue generating sales.  By 1:00 PM when we closed up for the day, we had few plants remaining, which is a very good thing. (Then we don’ have to re-plant them and care for them for another year.)  The people of West Bend and surrounding communities came out in full support of our sale, the Conservancy and its programs and that is very encouraging.

One of our long-time volunteers remarked that since this year’s event went so well, they couldn’t wait to get started on next year’s sale! While I think it is a bit early for that, the sun did shine and it was a very encouraging day.  I will have more updates on the sale in future notes and maybe some insight into stories of a very generous supporter who was paying it forward for a lot of people last Saturday.

Stay safe and we’ll see you on the trails,

Paul De Chant President
