Schedule for Spring and Summer 2021

Junior Naturalist Camp

Get ready to get dirty and learn along the way. These hands on week long camps will explore animals, habitats, science, and much more. Campers can sign up for multiple camps, and need to bring a bag lunch every day. We will cook-out on the final day and roast s’mores!

Dates (3 Options): 06/14/21 – 06/17/21 or 07/05/21 – 07/08/21 or 08/02/21 – 08/05/21
Days: M-Th 9:00A – 1:00P
Ages: 6 years to under 10 years
Fees: $35 Resident/$50 Non-Resident

Adventure Camp

Geared toward the true adventurer who will try something new, while making new friends. We will be biking from Lac Lawrann to different parks in the West Bend Park system. We will do archery, pickleball, swimming, hiking, volleyball, kayaking, and much more. Campers need to supply their own bike and helmet (both in safe working order), sweatshirt, swim suit, daily lunch, and snacks. A camp T-shirt will be provided and campers may sign up for multiple weeks. Bikes and helmet may stay securely at the Conservancy each night.

Birding at the Conservancy

During this adult class we will explore the Conservancy property in search of our resident birds and those migrating through. New birders as well as experienced are welcome to attend as we learn new species identification and bird calls.

West Bend Bird-A-Thon

Spend a fun and totally unique day searching for, and documenting how many different bird species you see in three different West Bend City Parks. Documentation will be used to help raise awareness as well as to support bird conservation. We will drive to each park location, then hike (singles or groups) and document our findings. Bring a lunch or purchase food downtown where we will stop at Old Settlers Park to discuss our findings. A T-shirt and birding field guide will be provided. Bring your own binoculars or borrow one of ours for the day. A complete itinerary will be provided upon registration.

Raising Monarch Butterflies

This family friendly class will teach you how to raise Monarch butterflies from eggs to butterfly. Each family will leave the class with: eggs, a kit, supplies and the knowledge of how to help raise monarch butterflies. Two class times to choose from, and only one registration fee required for each family unit.

Little Hikers

Does your little one have the spirit of adventure? Is no task too big? Join the Conservancy Naturalist for a hands-on hike where we use our senses to discover nature first-hand. It will be a stop and go hike, making it easy for any little one to keep up. We will visit a different part of the conservancy with each visit, covering lakes, woodlands, creeks and prairie. Children should be accompanied by their parent or caregiver. This class meets every Tuesday for four weeks. Children should be accompanied by their parent or caregiver.

Healthy Families Hiking

Are you or someone you know home caring for an infant through school aged child that is looking to get outdoors, get exercise and socialize with others? We welcome baby wearing, jogging strollers and those willing to get outdoors to learn something new each week and meet others who enjoy the great outdoors. If weather is not favorable, we will hold our group indoors.

While all children need to be accompanied by an adult, please register your child only.
